The summer spotlight shines on Kelsey, a beautiful 2010 graduate of Marshall High School. Kelsey served as class treasurer, and belongs to Honor Societies for Math and Spanish, but her favorite high school activity was singing in the Varsity Choir. “I love to sing. I sing anything from country to opera. It probably won’t be my career but I would like to pursue it in some way, like recording with a small label. I don't want to be famous or to be in magazines and have everyone know my business.” Kelsey will attend Baylor and is deciding between a major in Business Management or Broadcast Journalism. In five years, Kelsey sees herself “graduated, maybe traveling around with a news company, or maybe in grad school, but certainly not married yet!”
In her spare time, Kelsey likes to hang out with her friends, watch movies (“especially action movies that mess with your mind, like Fight Club”), and of course sing. Her advice for next year’s seniors? “Don’t overwhelm yourself or put too much on your plate. Keep your head in the game. You will want to slack off a little bit, and that’s OK, but don’t overdo it. If you have a high school ring, wear it facing yourself as a reminder to work hard so you can graduate and turn it around to show the world.”
