The Spring Spotlight features Gracie, a senior at the International School of the Americas, who is both beautiful and brilliant. At ISA, Gracie serves as an officer for the National Honor Society, plays varsity tennis, and works with San Antonio's Model United Nations. She enjoys landscape photography, and her work was selected for exhibit in an area-wide student art show this year. Gracie plans to pursue a career in Environmental Engineering, explaining, "Having a healthy environment is important in the long run. I like solving problems, balancing what's good for humans and what's good for the environment. It's a new field so there is a lot of variety and a lot of work to be done." Gracie was accepted at all her top-choice universities and has decided to attend texas A&M. Besides excelling at academics, sports,, and leadership, Gracie finds time to volunteer as a teacher's aide at Temple Beth-El, working with 5th graders on religious studies and tutoring Hebrew. She describes her students as "full of personality," and enjoys exposing them to new ideas. In spite of all her accomplishments, Gracie's life goal remains humble and generous: "Someday I'd like to say that I made a substantial difference in the world around me." Best wishes Gracie. You are already on your way to achieving this and much, much more. |
