The spring spotlight features Jett, a Churchill senior and trombonist in the Churchill band. Jett plans to major in music education at Texas State University. In his wildest dreams, Jett would play trombone in a symphony orchestra, but his immediate goal is to be a band director at the high school or university level. He wants to help young musicians develop “self confidence, motivation, and a passion for music.”
In his spare time, Jett likes listening to jazz (especially Count Basie), playing with his dogs (Zoe and Zeus), and working as a host at Chuy’s restaurant. You may notice that Jett shaved off his goatee halfway through his session. This was a thoughtful surprise for his mom because he knew it would make her happy. Good luck with your goals, Jett. With your talent and dedication you are sure to be an inspiration to the next generation of musicians!
